Charlotte Terry

Charlotte is, as they say, "connected" - to everyone and every place, from the Environmental Learning Center to Saint Edward's School, where both her children graduated.

She knows Florida and Real Estate. Charlotte Terry is a fourth generation Floridian, and has lived in Vero Beach for over 40 years. Her family moved to Vero Beach from Jacksonville, Florida, in 1966. After twenty years of owning her own company, Charlotte Terry Real Estate, Inc., Terry merged her company with Alex MacWilliam, Inc. Real Estate in 2009, continuing to specialize in Buyer representation in the local real estate market.

She is a do-er. Charlotte is more than a presence on the real estate scene. She is also a fixture in the community's vibrant cultural and environmental life, where she's been an activist and prime mover.

She is President of the Board of the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the poet, Ms. Jackson's historic home located on the ELC campus. The Foundation not only provides educational and literary seminars but started the successful Vero Beach Book Festival, bringing many Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize winning authors to the Vero Beach community. Partnering with this non- profit, Terry and Pam Proctor started the Teenwriters Workshop, bringing writers to Vero Beach to teach writing skills to teens, and started, with Nancy Hopwood, Cracker Tales, Inc., a documentary production company to capture local oral histories on video.

Terry, is a founding member and President of the Board of the Indian River Literary Society and serves on the Haiti Partners Advisory Committee, a group committed to training teachers, community leaders and building schools in Haiti.

She is a nature nut. An avid naturalist, Charlotte can often be found squiring clients on outdoor adventures, kayaking on the Indian River, fishing at Blue Cypress Lake, tracking wild animals in the St. Sebastian Buffer Preserve, or getting down and dirty at the annual bull auction at the Adams' Ranch. She also proudly serves on the Board of McKee Botanical Gardens.

She's a people person. Her clients' enthusiasm speaks for itself:

"Charlotte's deep market knowledge, uncommon value sensitivity and pragmatic, personalized approach insure customer satisfaction and loyalty. If you seek the best, use the best."
--Alice and Bill, John's Island

"Boy, are we ever glad we met you. We never would have found our fabulous condo (and at a such a great price!). We never would have had that crazy, fun Blue Cypress Lake day at the fish camp. And we never would have known the one, the only Miss Charlotte, who lights up not only our lives, but the whole world!"
--Ellen and Dick, Vero Beach

Charlotte says: "What thrills me most is opening cultural and environmental doors and volunteer opportunities in Indian River County for my clients."
